Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids

Proceedings of PP07 Symposium will be published in special issues of the journal  Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids.Please follow journal link for general instruction on preparation of the manuscripts and adopt specific requirements highlighted below.

Guidelines for the special PP07 issue of Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic acids

Submission of Manuscripts  Deadline for submission of manuscripts for PP07 proceedings is  10th August 2007. Reviewing and corrections process will be completed by 1st October 2007.

Manuscripts should be submitted as e-mail attachment  (NOT as pasted into e-mail message) to one of the guest editors and NOT to the Editorial office of the Journal). Please send e-mails for:sabinar@mcw.edu or alternatively/as a backup to: gj.peters@vumc.nl,mbecker@medicine.bsd.uchicago.edu. This web site will list all submitted manuscripts and its current status. If you do not see yours on the list, please notify us.

The subject of the e-mail should include the journal name and the body of the e-mail should include the journal name, article title, and the names and current contact information, including e-mail addresses, of all contributing authors. Authors may use MS Word or WordPerfect for their manuscript file.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.

All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of no more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text. Length of the paper for the PP07 proceedings (excluding title page, abstract page and reference page): Posters: 4 pages (+ max 2 Figures/Tables), Oral presentations: 6 pages (+ max 3 Figures/Tables), Invited lectuers: 8-10 pages (+ max 5 Figures/Tables).

Ilustrations  Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines: 300 dpi or higher, sized to fit on journal page, EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only, submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files. Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first page with color is $900.00. The next three pages with color are $450.00 each. A custom quote will be provided for color art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality color prints or files should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable.

Tables and Figures  Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend, and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.

References  References should be grouped into a section at the end of the paper and numbered in the order in which they are referred to in the text, following this format:

Proofs   All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. If the manuscript is not returned within the allotted time, the editor will proofread the article and it will be printed per the editor's instructions. Only correction of typographical errors is permitted. The author will be charged for additional alterations to text at the proof stage.

Proceedings issue of NNNA and Reprints   Onecopy of the NNNA PP07 Proceedings will be provided free for either the corresponding author or an author indicated with the submitted manuscript. Additional copies of the Proceedings can be purchased for 30 Euros each from the Society by filling out an order form for the Proceedings that will be available shortly on this site.Reprints of an individual article may be ordered from Taylor & Francis by using the reprint order form included with page proofs.
